This martial arts movie focuses initially on a lowly samurai who wishes to commit seppuka. However, it turns into a revenge movie. The lowly samurai eventually seeks to avenge the wrongful death of his son-in-law by a cruel & powerful samurai clan. The remake received a score of 79 from Rotten Tomatoes, the movie review website. In contrast, the 1962 classic received a 100 from Rotten Tomatoes.
