This calf stretch uses a wall in order to maximize this stretch. The standing calf stretch is used by martial arts students in order to loosen and stretch their calf muscles. It also used to help stretch knees, Achilles tendons, etc. Be aware that a torn calf muscle is a common martial arts injury. All stretches should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized.
