T-Planks - Martial Arts Core Exercise The T-Plank is an advanced core exercise used by martial artists. This straight body exercise helps to improve core strength. In turn, stronger core muscles allow martial artists to generate more powerful punches, kicks and grappling techniques. The T-plank is a variation of the traditional (and easier) side plank. T-planks are also know as push-up side planks, etc. To make this exercise even more challenging, some martial artists hold lightweight dumbbells in their hands when performing T-planks. All stretches and exercises should be supervised by a trained martial arts instructor to ensure the proper technique is being utilized and to avoid potential injuries. For other exercises, please visit the main Core Exercises section. Instructional Video for T-Planks
